Roadstar Caravans

Background

Roadstar Caravans has a history stretching back to around 1980, with over 30 years of manufacturing experience. The brand changed hands in 2008 when Ken Nizam’s family business and chassis supplier, Australian Hitec Engineering (Hi Tech Engineering), acquired Roadstar Caravans. Under Nizam’s leadership as Managing Director, the existing team was rehired and a new era of innovation began. Nizam set about modernising the range.

In 2015, Roadstar expanded into a fully upgraded 3,000 sqm factory in Somerton, Victoria, doubling production capacity. A landmark moment came in 2017 when Roadstar launched Australia’s first full fibreglass sandwich panel composite caravan, positioning the brand at the forefront of construction technology in the Australian market.

Manufacturing

Roadstar builds all caravans at their 3,000 sqm purpose-built facility in Somerton, Victoria. The company pioneered full fibreglass sandwich panel composite construction in Australia. Their background as a chassis supplier (Hi Tech Engineering) means the chassis and running gear are engineered in-house.
