Paradise Motor Homes

Background

Paradise Luxury Motorhomes was established in 2002 and has been one of Australia’s most recognised premium motorhome manufacturers. The company is based in Yatala, Queensland, and specialises in cab chassis and van conversions using Iveco or Mercedes platforms. By 2020, Paradise celebrated the production of its 700th motorhome, establishing itself as a significant player in the Australian luxury motorhome market.

Safety has always been described as the hallmark of a Paradise motorhome, with a commitment to exceed Australian Design Rules. The company holds patents on auto-locking cabinetry and slide-out design technology, and offers a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty with a 5-year structural guarantee.

Ownership & Structure

Paradise has had a turbulent ownership history. The business was then purchased by the owners of Melbourne’s JB Caravans, with production restarting at a new factory at 21 Dixon Street, Yatala, QLD 4207. Under JB’s financial backing, the new management reached separate financial agreements with affected customers, with five of eight customers who had works-in-progress deciding to place new orders to continue their builds.

Manufacturing

Paradise motorhomes are manufactured at their Yatala, Queensland facility. They specialise in cab chassis and van conversions, predominantly on Iveco or Mercedes platforms. The manufacturing process involves integrated design, construction, and quality assurance with multi-stage quality checks and pre-delivery inspections. The company manufactures, sells, and services its own products — an integrated approach that is relatively uncommon in the motorhome industry.

Market Position

Paradise sits firmly in the premium/luxury motorhome segment. They are not a caravan manufacturer — their focus is exclusively on motorhomes built on commercial cab chassis platforms. The combination of patented technology, safety focus, and luxury positioning places them at the top end of the domestic motorhome market. The JB Caravans backing provides financial stability that was previously lacking.
