Ozstar Caravans

Background

Oz Star Caravans is a relatively new entry to the Australian caravan market, based in Helensburgh, NSW. The company is a subsidiary of AAA Trailers, which has been involved in the heavy road transport industry for more than 10 years, importing and assembling truck cargo trailers. Oz Star displayed its five-model range at the 2024 NSW Caravan Camping Holiday Supershow, marking its entry into the consumer caravan space.

The company has showrooms in Sydney and Perth.

Ownership & Structure

Oz Star Caravans is a subsidiary of AAA Trailers, an established heavy transport trailer company. The parent company’s experience in importing and assembling truck trailers provides the logistics and import infrastructure for the caravan operation. The brand operates showrooms in both Sydney (Helensburgh, NSW) and Perth (Western Australia).

Manufacturing

Oz Star caravan bodies are imported from China and fitted to locally assembled chassis in Australia. The company offers three Couples Series models (11ft, 15ft, and 20ft body lengths) and two Family Series models (15ft and 20ft). The focus is clearly on delivering maximum value at entry-level pricing. All models feature semi off-road capability.

Market Position

Oz Star is positioned at the budget end of the Australian caravan market. Pricing starts at $45,000 driveaway for the 11ft Couples Series and goes up to $69,000 for the 20ft Family Series. They compete directly with other Chinese-import brands and target first-time caravan buyers or those on a tight budget. Their parent company’s transport industry experience gives them supply chain advantages in the import segment.
