Background
Kokoda Caravans was established in 2011 and builds off-road touring caravans. Trevor and Kathryn Price purchased the company in 2019, having previously run Rowville Horse Trailers and an automotive manufacturing business that supplied Holden, Mazda and Nissan.
Under the Price family’s ownership, Kokoda has expanded its range and invested in build quality and customer engagement. The company takes its name from the Kokoda Trail, reflecting its focus on rugged, adventure-ready caravans built for Australian conditions.
Ownership & Structure
Kokoda Caravans is Australian-owned and operated by Trevor and Kathryn Price since 2019. It is a private, family-run business with no parent company. The brand operates independently from its Campbellfield, Victoria factory.
Manufacturing
Every Kokoda caravan is built in-house at the company’s dedicated factory in Campbellfield, Victoria. The company emphasises fully Australian manufacturing, with construction happening on-site rather than being assembled from imported shells. Kokoda uses composite construction methods and focuses on off-road durability. The factory produces a range from compact couples vans through to large family layouts, all designed for off-road and off-grid capability.
Market Position
Kokoda sits in the mid-range to upper-mid-range off-road caravan segment. The brand has positioned itself as offering capable off-road caravans with good standard inclusions at a competitive price point. Key model lines include the Counterstrike, Force, Digger, and XCore series. The Price family’s manufacturing background and the company’s Australian-made credentials are key selling points.
