About Supreme Caravans

Background

Brothers Frank and Karl Prosenik founded Supreme Caravans in 1986 in an old shed on Sydney Road, Fawkner, Victoria. The brothers had migrated with their parents to Australia from Slovenia in 1967. Their first caravan (chassis number 0001), the Getaway, was built in those modest headquarters before the company moved five years later.

Supreme was one of the first Australian manufacturers to fit off-road running gear to caravans, including independent suspension, 4WD tyres, and checkerplate protection, at a time when caravans were primarily designed for bitumen roads. Supreme has over 39 years of manufacturing experience.

Ownership & Structure

Supreme Caravans remains under the ownership of the Prosenik brothers, Frank and Karl. The company also manufactures caravans under the Leader Caravans brand, which offers a more budget-friendly range. Together, Supreme and Leader produce approximately 1,000 caravans annually. The company employs around 170 people. The “Leader and Supreme Caravan Owners Group” on Facebook serves both brands.

Manufacturing

Supreme builds at their factory in Fawkner, Victoria (Melbourne’s northern suburbs). The facility has expanded significantly from the original shed. Both the Supreme and Leader ranges are manufactured at the same location, sharing engineering and construction expertise. Annual output of approximately 1,000 units across both brands makes Supreme one of the larger independent Australian manufacturers.

Market Position

Supreme spans from mid-range to premium pricing. The Classic and Spirit models serve the touring market, the Territory targets off-road buyers, and the Executive sits at the premium end. The Leader brand provides an entry-level offering under the same ownership. With 78 reviews on ProductReview alone, Supreme has one of the larger customer feedback datasets in the industry, reflecting their significant production volumes.
