About Ozcape Campers
Background
Ozcape Campers was founded in December 2004 by Joe Ried on the Gold Coast, Queensland. The company specialises in German-engineered, Australian-built slide-on campers that convert flat-tray utes into fully self-contained motorhomes with remote-controlled electric jacks.
Manufacturing
All campers are built at their Burleigh Heads, QLD facility and sold direct from the factory only. They employ 5-10 staff and fit a range of popular ute models including Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50, Isuzu D-Max, and Toyota Hilux. Models are available for single, extra, or dual cab vehicles. Recent updates include LiFePO4 battery technology and new shell materials.
Market Position
Ozcape occupies a niche position in the slide-on camper segment, differentiating through German-engineered design principles combined with Australian manufacturing. The direct-from-factory sales model keeps the operation boutique and allows for close customer relationships.
